Little Ninebark

First Editions Little Devil ninebark (Physocarpus opulifolius Donna May) took top honors at Garden Idol, held January 21 during ANLA’s New Clinic in Louisville, Kentucky. This dwarf ninebark was chosen by an audience of horticulture industry members as the best new plant introduction for 2011.

Little Devil grows to just 4 ft., making it suitable as a background for flowerbeds or in shrub borders. It features beautiful, deep burgundy foliage throughout the season and small white-pink clusters of flowers in June. Little Devil is disease and pest resistant, requires little maintenance, and keeps its compact shape without pruning. Full sun, part shade. Height and spread: 3 ft. to 4 ft. Zones 3 to 7.
